Using wordle

Wordle is a free tool that generates "world clouds", based on visualization. Visualization is a technique to graphically represent sets of data. Wordle enables the user to type in a website, blog or to paste their own text, and Wordle will provide a visualization or picture of the most frequent words on it. The most frequent words have a bigger font size. You can test this tool with your own blog. Below is a Wordle of today's New York Times edition.

Twitter Feed of Will Richardson

This is an embed Twitter feed from Richardson's Twitter Account. It will refresh every 10-15 seconds and display up to 30 Twitter posts from Mr. Richardson’s Twitter profile. I find it interesting to follow people in Twitter to see who they follow themselves and what research/articles are they reading and sharing with others. In some sort perhaps, the people that we follow become the news digest for us, such as a RSS feed.

Welcome!

Welcome to Computer Applications in Business Education blog. My name is Matias Marabotto and I am a graduate student at the University of West Georgia. I created this blog as an assignment for my ABED 6107 Instructional Strategies of Technology course, taught by Dr Sunil Hazari. I believe that the knowledge and effective use of computer applications such this one, weblogs, is a great way to learn, communicate and collaborate. I plan to share computer applications and technologies that can be implemented in Business Education. I will be posting soon a tutorial with easy steps on how to create a PowerPoint document and how to narrate the slides. In addition, I will also show how to use iSpring free, a free PowerPoint conversion tool to flash video which will enable you to upload a PowerPoint in a much more accessible format to the web as an html file. Having the opportunity to upload your original PowerPoint as an html file, you would be able to connect with your audience asynchronously.
Let me tell you a little bit about the layout of this blog. I added a RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feed on the right column of the blog from Will Richardson’s blog (
http://willrichardson.com/Furthermore, Will Richardson is the author of Blogs, Wikis, Podcasts, and Other Powerful Web Tools for Classrooms, which is our main book for our ABED-6107 class.  Also, I added a RSS feed from Jane’s eLearning Pick of the Day, which is a great resource and it is always good to see what she has to say.
On the footer of the blog, I have a poll for the visitors, and I also have an RSS feed for each of my classmate’s blogs. Where I can see and follow what are their new posts in their great Blogs.

Thanks for reading and please share your comments.
